Hany Salam

Hany Salam (ESC 580) of Cairo, a prominent member of the PSE, will be invited to sign the international Roll of Distinguished Philatelists at the Stockholmia meeting (May 29 to June 2).

He is well known to us for his fabled hospitality on our trips to Egypt as well as for illuminating research and fascinating QC articles on postal paquebots of the nineteenth century and the communications between slave traders dealing with the movement of tribesmen and women from the south to Egypt’s slave markets.

Hany is the first Egyptian to follow in the footsteps of the indefatigable and much-loved Ibrahim Chaftar Bey (1902-1988), who signed the Roll in 1950.
We congratulate his modern successor!
